Our Story

Covard is a fully female run organization, focused on changing the stem industry to be more diverse by inspiring one child at a time. Started by a highschooler and her mom, Covard offers free classes and sessions to schools and afterschool programs. These classes will teach the very basics of a certain area of study, like circuitry or Dna replication, in a fun and exciting way. This will make science less daunting to scholars who have a intrest in it, but don't know where to start. Covard also helps highschoolers with an intrest in buissness. As we run seminars for students to ask questions see the inner-workings of the company

How we started: At the summer camp I was working at, we were provided leds, batteries, and breadboards. Most of the staff did not know how to use them, however I took full advantage and made projects for my group of kids to work on. This led me to think about the process larger scale. I enjoyed teaching my group, and all of the kids in my group loved it, I realized it could spark an intrest in science and engineering- Even at their young age.

Covard is the cumulation of personal selfishness, and ideals. I started Covard because I did not want to see unequality in the field I plan to work in (Computer Science). This corporation was the best solution I came up with. Inspired by other non-profits like girls who code, I wanted to help people find a passion a field they might not normally even try. Making STEM accessible and fun, just like how it was for me. -Grace
